Here is a little video of me running on my most beloved TREADMILL! It is so exciting when my people say "Uba, do you want to go on your treadmill?" Then I jump down the stairs to the treadmill as fast as I can and my people put my working harness on me and I get to RUN! I really really love running on my treadmill.
When we made this video we cut out a lot of the fun part because my mom says 20 minutes of me running might not be all that interesting to people watching. I think the running part is the best!
See how happy I am at the end?
happy running,
Uba
Edited in response to questions:
Uba is running on the dog powered Grand Carpet Mill. Not all dogs are as enthusiastic as Uba about the treadmill concept. Jonny, for example, thinks its pretty boring. It can take some dogs, even those with a ton of energy, a bit of time to get used to the idea of using a treadmill, so please do your research on training, be sure to use a good working harness, and be prepared to always monitor your dogs' treadmill use for safety.

Wow how great is that! did you guys make the treadmill or did you buy it? We have one 5 year old pittie girl who is from the Berkeley animal shelter, and we now live in Santa Cruz and foster pits there- right now we have an 8 month old little guy who would love a treadmill! Good work Uba!
What an athlete! You look so happy. That's a great idea for when it's too cold or hard to go outside--I guess the same reason people use a treadmill too.
That is awesome. We have two pitties that would love that, especially since we live in Gresham, Oregon where we get lots of rain in the winter. Did you buy it or make it? Any info. would be great.

I'd love to buy or build one of these for our super hyper 6 month baby boy. Can you let us know where you got the treadmill? Thanks!

Lookit that smile! Such fun to watch!
That video made me smile, then laugh out loud. Uba looks so much like my dog--and he looks just as happy when running. I now need a treadmill--love it!
Aw, Uber-Goober, you are too, too precious. I can't wait to get one of these for my babies.
Diana, just a warning. Stupidly, owning a dog treadmill here in Oregon qualifies as felony dog fighting. My pibble would love one, cause he HATES going out in the cold and wet. (Although the one day we had enough snow that he could "swim" in it, he was outside a lot.) Your neighbor in East Portland Julie
I cried laughing at this! What a great tool for Uba, that video is awesome!!
please keep postin your tips!! we sure could use them!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE you for give this pittie a loving chance!!!
I wasn't sure how I would feel about this until I saw the video. As soon as Uba started running, I bust out laughing. I even caught myself clapping and saying "good dog!"...lol!
Oregon...felony dog fighting...what? Geesh...what do they do to someone running a dog on the street? Perhaps that's only a misdemeanor. How silly!
Letti...It warms my heart to read about the wonderful things you do with your dogs. Good for you and especially good for them!
so cute!
You can just tell Uba looooves his treadmill! Uur 7 month old pitty enjoys twice a day zoomies around our apartment (even after his daily walks). I have to admit though that those zoomy episodes were quite spectacular and slightly disconserting while living aboard our sailboat this summer!
look how happy he is!! i think every pittie owner should invest in one of these (if the dog is interested)
tammy i hear ya on that one!! haha unfortunately lots of the dog fighters use treadmills to keep the dogs in good condition so its considered fighting parafinalia (SP?)
